 Three modules a semester  Each module: a 2-hour lecture + 1 hour seminar + one-to-one tutorials as required;  ACTION LEARNING SETS: study groups – weekly meetings in your own time (work on group tasks, discuss set reading for each of the lectures)  Study abroad: possible to spend Semester 1 abroad in your second year (Sep-Jan).  Importance of work placements: 4 placements available across years 2 and 3 (your own choice with the support of a placement advisor)  High levels of academic and pastoral support

 This is a 3 year Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree  To become a qualified teacher students would need to do a one-year Postgraduate Certification of Education (PGCE) or Schools Direct - applied for separately, numerous universities offer such courses (including St. Mary’s)  Application UCAS Teacher Training  If you student would like to teach at secondary level 50% of your degree must be in the subject you wish to teach  We offer combined honours with English, History, Religious Studies, Geography, Psychology and Physical and Sport Education.  Joint honours is not necessary for PGCE in Primary or Early Years Teaching (far better to do single honours BA Education and Social Science)
