11. What is the PGCE?
Initial Teacher Education programme for primary teachers of children aged 3-11 years
PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) with 60 Masters-level credits and awarded Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
The programme is a teaching qualification which aims to produce teachers who meet the Teachers’ Standards and also an internationally recognised academic qualification

20. Primary PGCE assessed placements
Autumn term – based in host school until half term. Move to contrasting school placement - Block School Experience 1 - after half term for 7 weeks assessed placement.
Spring and summer term – return to host school and commence Block School Experience 2 in March for 13 weeks assessed placement.
