French and Indian War NOT fought between France and the Indians WAS fought between England (our parents) and France. The Indians helped the French The English (British) won o Created debt. How will it be paid? o Raise taxes. What does that cause? o Colonists boycotted and smuggled British goods

Taxation “Taxation without representation “ Before the French and Indian War the British had left the colonies alone. After the French and Indian War it was whole ‘nother ballgame. Stamp Act o Tax on documents Navigation Act o Colonists must use British ships and buy British goods

Boston Massacre British soldiers said that some colonists “started it”. They wasn’t true. Wasn’t a large number to die…but it “stirred the pot”. Colonists were looking for an excuse to fight the British.
