© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Feature Launched Overview Background Audience Alma Real-Time Acquisition (RTA) integration with OASIS platform via API Order information from OASIS to Alma is sent via EDI ordering and FTP workflows. An integration via API is the next level of integration. Accounts that currently use both OASIS and Alma

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Available Order Types From OASIS Print and eBook orders eBook orders from all eBook platforms available in OASIS For order placed via any acquisition model Firm orders Book selection or approval plans New title notifications or slip plans Note: The integration at this point does not include invoices, it is only for transferring order data. 3

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Benefits Faster, real-time insertion of order data into Alma at the same time the order is placed in OASIS, creating order records that allow library staff to see what is on order Streamlines book workflows: API allows order information to flow from OASIS to Alma without the need to use a (slower) FTP data transfer method Saves staff time through the automated transfer of information. Library staff does not need to perform additional steps to integrate order information into their library management system Main added value: increased workflow efficiency

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Workflow Step 1: An order is placed in OASIS and is sent for processing at ProQuest Selection of Fund (taken from Alma) Selection of Location from OASIS dropdown menu Titles are selected in OASIS and ordered. 1

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Step 2: Order data is sent simultaneously to Alma via API Order is placed in OASIS. Order data is simultaneously and automatically sent via API to Alma 2

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Step 3: Order line created in Alma Order line is created in Alma based on the details from OASIS 3

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Step 4: Fund and location data populated according to data from OASIS Fund and location according to details from OASIS 4

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Step 5: Brief MARC records created in Alma; title on order is automatically visible to users for discovery Brief MARC record is created in Alma 5

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Alma API Order Workflow User searches OASIS and builds list of books to order or picks from an approval list Order is placed in OASIS which causes data (a very brief MARC record ) to be sent via API to Alma to create order line in PO Overnight a more complete brief MARC record is sent to Alma which overwrites the very brief record created by the API Invoice data and MARC records flow to Alma system when book is shipped OASIS / CIS* * CIS = backend database for OASIS Librarian

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Workflow: What happens next? 1.The order has been placed in OASIS and now is waiting for delivery 2.An [optional] confirmation of the order will be sent by OASIS 3.If users want a “more complete” brief MARC record*, ProQuest will set up an overnight transfer of that record for the customer to load into their system for better discovery 4.EDI order confirmations and status reports will be sent for processing by Alma so the library can receive the latest status of the order 5.If the customer selects to use EDI invoicing, this will be sent at the time the book is shipped, and automatically processed by Alma 6.If the customer also purchases MARC records from OASIS, those records will be sent and uploaded to Alma automatically 7.All that’s left is to receive the item in Alma * This option is available only through the Alma OASIS integration

© 2016 Ex Libris | Confidential & Proprietary Alma & OASIS Integration Setup: Rules of Engagement ProQuest Books will help the customer through the setup process Customer must request Alma API key through Ex Libris. If customers want to use this in their sandbox system, then a separate key must be requested for that system Contact to request setup on ProQuest Configuration Team will Discuss workflow Do system setup Monitor first order or testing in sandbox
