1 HP PPM Center release 8 Helping IT answer the tough questions
IT portfolio investment management How much has been invested in this initiative to date? How can I more easily ensure timely approvals? In talking to our HP PPM Center customers and prospects during requirements gathering for HP PPM Center release 8, we heard a common set of challenges from the PMO, portfolio, project, and resource managers Things like Being able to determine how much has been invested in the project, from start to finish How to report meaningful financial information, proactively Or supporting a global customer base, being mindful of TCO and maintaining centralized process Defining processes in PPM in a way that encourage users to collect required information consistently and approve requests and in a timely manner These and many other challenges or tough questions roughly translate into these 3 themes, and PPM Center 8 includes enhancements in all 3 to help our customers: consolidate and analyze costs across all dimensions, across the lifecycle on the investment (Portfolio Investment Management) ensure resource efficiencies and secure global adoption (Global Resource Efficiencies) Improve governance and reduction of IT spend (IT Financial Transparency & Controls) Let’s look at each theme at a high level, before stepping through the details of the new features. This presentation also includes information about the upgrade process and other product updates How can I easily report financials to the execs weekly? IT financial transparency and controls Global resource efficiencies What about the operational and infrastructure requests? How can I support my worldwide users, while still enforcing centralized processes? 25 April 2017

2 IT portfolio investment management
Leverage “cash flow” analysis to increase accuracy of IT investment decisions Gain early indication of cost deviations through new financial summary pages Support business reviews with rich, actionable, information Visibility to consolidated, accurate & timely information increases effective decision-making It allows you to more easily adapt to rapidly changing business conditions, particularly important in today’s tough economic times And manage IT portfolio with greater accuracy, which could allow you to meet new requirements, ones that deliver greater business value HP PPM Center 8 further assists with this visibility with the new Financial Summary, a real time status of key financial metrics and budget information that provides financial transparency throughout the investment lifecycle. As the investment moves from proposal to project to application or service maintenance, the metrics, approved budget, snapshots, etc. are maintained As you’ll see in the coming slides, the FS provides clear indication of how much of the budget has actually been consumed as well as early indication of deviations between plans and actuals; etc. The budget, a key component of the FS, has been significantly improved with enhancements such as approved spend, snapshots, and improved interaction Communicating and sharing the financial information is most commonly achieved though dashboard portlets. HP PPM Center 8 builds on this infrastructure by providing new options when creating custom portlets such as pivot tables or spider diagrams. 25 April 2017

3 Global resource efficiencies
Support global teams with multiple languages in the same instance; HP or partner provided languages Increase resource utilization and planning effectiveness through multi-project resource forecasting Enhanced usability and integrations to drive and secure global adoption New SaaS delivery options designed to speed rollout and ROI for ALL customer sizes By Resource Efficiencies we mean providing tools, technologies, best practices, etc. that increase the effectiveness of the HP PPM Center users, help secure user adoption and, contribute to the lowest possible cost of ownership HP PPM Center 8 targets improved resource efficiencies with several new capabilities and enhancements including multi-locale. HP PPM Center has long been enabled for Internationalization (which includes the support of local character sets allowing customer-provided data to be entered in any language) and translations (available for the HP-provided UI and best practice data). However, until PPMC 8, the HP-provided elements of the UI have supported just a single language per PPM instance. With HP PPM Center v8.0, the product has been enabled to support multiple languages simultaneously within the same instance. The release also takes multilingual UI a step further by allowing multiple translations down to an attribute level for some types of object. This makes it feasible for two people using different languages to work on the same request and process. (English plus: Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Spanish, Russian, Turkish PPM v8.0 provides an Open Localization toolkit to partners meaning that an HP partner will be able to provide other language variations beyond the set HP provides. Several new RM capabilities are introduced including a new mechanism to manage resource demand forecasts across projects called the Forecast page , greatly simplifying the process for PMs and RMs. The Forecast page, along with many other enhancements, such as The ability to initiate a proposal from HP Service Manager Service Catalog and the ability to create a change request for an operational or infrastructure request from a PPM project task Of course help make the individual user more efficient, but are also targeted at helping to secure PPM adoption 25 April 2017

4 IT financial transparency and controls
Govern IT spend through secure and automated checkpoints, defined controls and approvals – including through handheld devices* Mitigate and manage the risk of change to the business and IT Easily consolidate and analyze costs across all dimensions to optimize investments and cost structures IT Financial Transparency & Compliance is about mitigating and managing the risk of change to the business and IT and ensuring governance over IT spend HP PPM Center 8 facilitates that important consideration with a new, optional, separately priced, solution that allows the end user to reply and take action on their workflows from their or handheld device In addition, the well established workflow itself with a mature WF feature that allows the user to save progress of work completed in the workflow transition step. No more worries when collecting the information required to get the next step takes longer than expected to collect. Of course many of the Financial Summary and budget enhancements extend to this theme as they bring greater visibility to financials. In addition to those already highlighted, PPM cost roll ups have been enhanced (resource and position include cost category, can search for resources by Cost Category) Discussed later in the presentation, new, separately priced product called Financial Planning & Analysis consolidates PPM Center 7.5 and Asset Management financial data, analyzing costs across all dimensions 25 April 2017 * New, separately priced, product
