COLORED PENCIL You are grading your own paper. Please put all pens and pencils away. Use a COLORED PENCIL to make your corrections. If I see a pen/pencil on your desk I’ll consider it as cheating!

* Single-hung windows offer the same timeless style as double-hung windows but only the bottom sash is movable. So, you lose the advantage of upper ventilation at the top of a room

* The top and bottom sashes slide up and down within the window frame. Their two sliding sashes provide very efficient ventilation.

* A picture window is a very large window, usually located in a part of the house with a really nice view. The objective of a picture window is to frame the beautiful scenery outside as if it were a picture, whether it's a city skyline or a well-tended rose garden. Picture windows are therefore typically a single oversized pane. They are also usually longer horizontally, so as to provide a more panoramic dimension and outlook.

* Window’s shaped like an octagon (8 sides) * May be decorative instead of functional

* Dormer: a curvaceous way to get some light and, perhaps, ventilation in a top-floor space while distinguishing a building's facade. * Window- a window with a curved top

* They feature one hinged sashes that swing out. Casement windows are generally open and shut with the turn of one crank handle at the sill. Models that don’t use cranks are commonly referred to as push-out casements. A French casement features two push-out sashes that are hinged on opposite sides of the same frame.

* Comprised of three to six windows that are all the same size. This gives the design of the space the ability to have a gradually curved look and feel.

* Often are made up of three windows of varying sizes, the formation will typically have a large center window and is surrounded by two smaller windows. The two smaller windows, called flankers, are angled from the wall at approximately 30 to 40 degrees and are often double hung to give adequate ventilation.

* Sliding windows move from side to side, allowing for easy operation. They are an ideal choice for difficult to reach areas. They come in a two-sash version with a single operable panel or where both operate for ventilation. They also come in a three panel version, where the two end panels, which each generally account for 25% of the width, open for ventilation.

* Awning windows are hinged at the top and they open out like an awning

* a window set above the transom of a door or larger window, fanlight * In many cases, transoms are strictly decorative. * a transom is a transverse horizontal structural beam or bar, or a crosspiece separating a door from a window above it.

* a semicircular window with radiating bars like the ribs of a fan that is placed over a door or window

* Louvres allows air to flow through almost 100% of the window area. Opened – it’s like free air conditioning in your home but better as you control the strength of the breeze allowed through. Closed - louvres seals tightly to keep water and wind out when you want.

* It is an archway, or window, with three openings, the central one arched and wider than the flanking openings (which were rectangular and enclosed at the top by an architrave).
