DASNR Facility Master Plan process: Feedback and next steps Survey results 26 respondents Surprise at number of structures, and % in need of major repair or replacement Some disputes with assessments on major repair/end of life categories

DASNR Facility Master Plan process: Feedback and next steps Survey results Agronomy farm structures (buildings 609, 611, 613, 616) are in critical state Biosystems and Ag Engineering lab building – misperception that “in need of major repair” means “we’re going to tear this down” – that is not the conclusion I reach; some dispute about the state of the building Nutrition Physiology Building (Animal Science) has planning underway – don’t forget about this

DASNR Facility Master Plan process: Feedback and next steps Survey results Teaching greenhouses and CERL – need to replace and keep on campus 4-H office complex – helpful to have on campus; need more versatile space Consider classroom of the future – what will we need?

DASNR Facility Master Plan process: Feedback and next steps Next steps Charrettes – intensive planning session involving designers and facility users to develop a vision for facility uses and design considerations; involves needs assessment, information on design constraints, discussion of solutions and design features January – February Open to those interested in participating (this calls for active engagement in the discussion, information sharing and design process)

Federal Budget Update Omnibus Appropriations Bill before Congress Continuing Resolution needed today Agreement on Omnibus expected by week’s end USDA Research title Flat funding for Hatch, Smith-Lever, McIntire-Stennis, EFNEP Slight increase (4%) for 1890 research and Extension – addition of Central State University to the system $25 million increase in AFRI to $350 million
