Form the present progressive with the present tense of estar and a present participle. ESTAR + PRESENT PARTICIPLE Están cantando. Estoy comiendo. They are singing. I am eating. Estamos esperando. Ella está trabajando. We are waiting. She is working.

If an –er or –ir verb has another vowel before the ending (leer, creer, influir, etc), the present participle ends in –yendo (change the i to a y). Irregulars: iryendo poder pudiendo venir viniendo

In Spanish, the verb estar is used to talk about how people feel and to say where people, places, and things are located. Estoy bien, gracias. Juan está en la biblioteca. I’m fine, thanks. Juan is at the library. Estar is used with adjectives to describe the physical condition of nouns. La puerta está cerrada. Todo está muy limpio. The door is closed. Everything is very clean.

Note that the plural of feliz is felices Note that the plural of feliz is felices. Also, note that seguro means safe when referring to an object and confident when referring to people.
