Internet Safety

 When keying an message or instant messages, do not key in ALL CAPS. This is like shouting within your message and considered to be rude.  Do not give out phone numbers or other personal information unless you are sure the site is safe.  Never give out personal information about others without their permission.

 Consider all private s to belong to the original author. Do not forward it or post it without permission.  Send information only to those who need it. Busy people do not want to spend time reading messages not related to them.  Do not send large attachments without the receiver’s permission.

 Do not spam. Spam is an message sent to many addresses. It’s similar to junk mail.  Keep your computer virus-free to avoid spreading viruses to others.  Be courteous to others in all online messages and on Web pages.Do not use offense or biased language.  Respect the privacy of others in all online messages.

 Assume that messages ( , instant messages, newsgroup postings) are not secure. Do not include private information.
