VIEWpath is a tool to assist us in becoming a reflective practitioner, helping us to become a better educator. VIEWpath allows educators to record, store and share learning objects and lessons. VIEWpath makes content available for students for anytime, anywhere learning. A few reminders:

Please note that you should log in using your last.first name, and not your full address. If you have logged in using your , some of your videos could be under your log in. If you have logged in using your as well as your last.first name you have created two accounts. Please contact your TTL or Melissa Jackson, Kim Aldridge, Jennifer Williams or Craig Dinn if you have created two accounts so they can be merged into one account.

Reminder on how to edit Scheduled Recordings N-DVR window MY SCHEDULE Select the MORE button

In the quick search located at the top of SAFARI Montage search for the (1) Naming Conventions, select the (2) Documents tab, select the (3) title of the document, and select (4) download and save to your documents. 1. Naming Conventions 2. Select Documents Tab 3. Select the title of the Naming Conventions Document 4. Select DOWNLOAD and save in your documents.

Select the title of your Recording or EDIT

Editing your video recording, adding descriptions, sharing and permission, select EDIT button.

Descriptive Information Tab Edit your title using the proper Naming Conventions. Fill in the description with information about the recording, the more information you enter the better the search results will be. Select a grade range from the drop down menu. Publisher defaults to Creation Station, or any other specific folders created by district. Copyright, when did you create the content. Don’t forget to select Save and Continue.

Rights Management Information Tab By default, your recordings will expire after 30 days, select Never Expires. You also have the option to allow content to expire on a certain month, day and year. Select downloadable if you would like people to be able to save a copy. With Managed Home Access you will have access at home or wherever you are logged in. This has to be checked for students to access content from home. To allow others to view your content, select Share. Select Save and Continue

Creative Commons Select the “i” to determine the rights you want to grant to other users.

Add any additional information inside your content to give credit, websites, documents, individuals, etc …

By default, the Grant Permissions To: defaults to All If you want to allow all users to view your content, you can leave the permissions set to All If you would like to choose who can view your content, from the drop down menu, select User Types Permissions

User Types By default when you select Users Types ALL is checked as Viewable and Playable at Home, with Managed Home Access. Uncheck the Users you don’t want to view the content; Playable At Home will be unchecked as well. You can select a User to view content and not select Playable at Home. Make sure to Save!

Users and User Groups allows you to share with specific people or groups Share with individuals as well as yourself

Adding and Deleting users to your camera To share your camera with another teacher, para-educator or administrator follow these instructions. Log into SAFARI Montage 1. Select the Modules Tab 2. Select VIEWpath – 3. Classroom Users 4. Select the teacher from the list of Available Users and 5. Select Add, they will now appear in the box of Assigned Users To Delete a user, do the reverse 6.Select the teacher that you want to remove from the Assigned Users 7.select Remove

Once you add a user to your camera they have full control over your camera. They can schedule a recording. They can change your camera streams/view They can view your camera live. They can add and delete users. When you add users to your camera, have a discussion with the person so they understand the purpose for giving them access to your camera and what your expectations are.

Assignment:  Locate and use your three (3) recordings to Edit  Descriptive Information Rename them using the naming conventions document Add descriptive information. Grade Range Publisher Copyright date  Rights Management Select never expires Select downloadable if you want teachers/students to be able to save it. Select Home Access to access outside the school. Select share  Share your camera with someone you trust, have them check to see that they can view your camera and then un-share.  Continue to record daily
