Tips for Healthy Dating Tips for Healthy Dating If you find that you are not really friends with someone you have a "crush" on, let that be a warning signal that something is wrong.

Do not think that someone who has no character is going to develop it just because you want him or her to grow.

If being attracted to the wrong person is a pattern, do not blame it on external reasons, but take responsibility for being the one who has a problem and work on finding its cause.  Make yourself face the hard questions about the person you are with. With the help of friends, be honest about whether or not you really "like" the person as well as have "chemistry" with him or her. Romantic feelings can be very deceptive, and even pathological. They are not "true love."

Reserve your dating life for people actively involved in the growth process. Those who are taking ownership of their deficits are less likely to develop dependencies on the strengths of others. Be in the growth process yourself. Growth attracts growth. You will find yourself more drawn to others for healthy reasons, and less attracted to others because of what you don't possess.

 Normalize and identify each of your character deficits. Such issues as detachment, irresponsibility, over responsibility, perfectionism, authority conflicts, and the like, should be topics that you both can talk about personally, about yourself and each other. Be agents of growth, healing, and change for each other, specifically in these issues.

What makes a relationship healthy? Communication & Sharing: The most important part of any healthy relationship between two people is being able to talk and listen to one another. You and the other person can figure out what your common interests are. You can share your feelings with the other person and trust that they will be there to listen and support you. In healthy relationships, people don't lie. Communication is based on honesty and trust. By listening carefully and sharing your thoughts and feelings with another person, you show them that they are an important part of your life. Respect and Trust : In healthy relationships, you learn to respect and trust important people in your life. Disagreements may still happen, but you learn to stay calm and talk about how you feel. Talking calmly helps you to understand the real reason for not getting along, and it's much easier to figure out how to fix it. In healthy relationships, working through disagreements often makes the relationship stronger. In healthy relationships, people respect each other for who they are. This includes respecting and listening to yourself and your feelings so you can set boundaries and feel comfortable. In a relationship which should come first – Emotional Intimacy or Physical Intimacy??

Emotional Intimacy is much harder to achieve than physical intimacy, but is much more rewarding. Emotional Intimacy will lay the foundation for a healthy relationship capable of growth and strength.
