SCAP Accomplishments

Student Health Surveys Since 2002, SCAP has administered the Student Health Survey to Somerville students in grades 6-8. This last year, 21 community leaders and over 100 teachers and the school’s support staff came together to administer these survey’s at all the middle schools in Somerville. Each year this data is used by SCAP and community agencies to improve youth programming. Since 2002, SCAP has administered the Student Health Survey to Somerville students in grades 6-8. Increased Coalition by 100 people and distributed over 10,000 E-Newsletters SCAP has had a E-Newsletter since September This year alone we distributed over 10,000 copies of it. The is a jump of 20% from 2010.

SCAP Website 750 Hits Somerville Community members are interested in SCAP! On average, the “Frequently asked questions” are: How can I become a member of SCAP? Is it free? Heart2Heart Goals: To promote a positive sense-of-self & positive relationships among SHS Teens. Outcomes: 108 SHS Students and Staff participated Helped SHS students feel positive about themselves and each other

The SPF Impact Changed the misperception of marijuana use by Somerville High School students. Promoted positive community norms.
