Genetically modified organisms (GMO)

The states should label the genetically modified organisms to avoid the possible long term effects to the youth.

Agricultural Biotechnology Agricultural Biologist modifies organisms to improve plants and animals, they also develop new organisms for agricultural uses.

What are GMO? Modification of one’s gene with another specie’s gene to gain traits that will be beneficial to the organism. examples-of-genetic-engineering/web-spinning-goats

Cons in GMOs? Allergic reactions 60% - 70% of processed ingredients in US grocery store are GMOs “United States in 2012 were about 88 percent for corn, 94 percent for cotton, and 93 percent for soybeans” - USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)

Pros in GMOs? Improvements in agriculture Ex) Pest control Papaya ringspot virus compass.org/eng/grocery_shopping/fruit_vegetables/14.genetically_modifi ed_papayas_virus_resistance.html
