Mrs. Craig…  has a Master’s in Middle Education (Curriculum and Instruction), grades 4-8  is endorsed as a Reading Specialist, grades K-12  has been teaching sixth grade for 15 years  Has published writing in children’s magazines and educational supplements such as Science Weekly

Grading Prince William Grading Scale A 87-89B B 77-79C C 67-69D D 59 or below F Weighting of Assignments Homework or Classwork counts 1x Quizzes count 2x Tests, Essays, Book Projects count 3x (announced a week in advance, study guides and/or notes provided) Reading Logs are collected monthly, and students are required to read independently for 2 hours or more per week.

For class, students need:  One section of the binder this class  Composition Notebook  Pencils  Looseleaf paper  Colored pencils (or crayons)  Individual pencil sharpener

Classroom Management  Respect for all  Focus on positive by rewarding students with praise and tickets for class drawings  Use Canter’s Assertive Discipline and Jones’ Positive Discipline techniques  “Discipline Log” Student fills out a reflection log sheet when classroom rules are not followed. 1x = warning 2x = student writes a note to the teacher 3x = students writes a note to get signed by parent 4x = student speaks with counselor or administrator 5x = administrative referral may be written
