Surface Water Supply Scheme For Rural / Villages Using Continuous Sand Filtration Technology Flow Diagram of WTP Raw Water Pump CSF ACF Chlorination

Continuous Sand Filter The Continuous Sand Filter plant is a continuous up flow deep bed granular media filter for raw water filtration for potable use. The backwash should also be continuous to facilitate filter media to be moving in down flow direction and continuously cleaned by recycling the sand internally. TREATMENT PHILOSOPHY Source ( Canal )  Raw Water Pump  Continuous Sand Filter  Filtered Water Tank and Pump  Activated Carbon Filter  Disinfection by Chlorination -> Over Head Tank

Process Parameters Handles inlet suspended solid loads upto 150 ppm & it can also handle TSS upto 200 – 250 ppm with the addition of Alum / Polymer. Consistent Treated water quality of less than 2 ppm. Surface loading depends upon type of application and varies from from 6 to 20 m/h. Available in two sizes in steel with flow rates of 30 m3/hr & 50 m3 /hr. Higher flow rates can be achieved by concrete structure.

Continuous Sand Filter - Benefits Filters – Influent Containing up to ten times more dirt than conventional filters. Continuous Operations of Filters – Filters need not to be stopped for backwash. The Backwash water can be recycle – No Wastage of water. Very Compact & easy to Install.

Continuous Sand Filter - Benefits Maximum Clean Filtrate – Filter bed always contains a certain amount of solids which improve filtrations. Enables filters to accept a highly polluted flow with high efficiency. No Backwashing – Sand bed continuously cleaned and regenerated by internal recycling. This unique cleaning method dispenses with backwash water storage tanks and pumps.
