Spelling Words Their Way  Differentiated Spelling Lists at the students’ level  Sorts and interactive manipulation of words  Practices and strengthens specific spelling patterns  This does not necessarily mean longer words.  Sorts are practiced daily at school.

Reader’s Workshop  Includes: Read Alouds and Mini-Lessons Individual and group conferences Small group leveled reading instruction Independent Reading at the students’ level Studentsl complete written responses to reflect reading comprehension

Writer’s Workshop Read Alouds with mentor texts and Mini-Lessons Individual and group conferences Independent Writing at the students’ level Students will compose various genres of writing

Math Workshop 2 nd Grade  Place Value (Numbers to 120 moving throughout the year to 1,000)  Time & Money  Measurement  Geometry  Word Problems (1 & 2 Step)  Mental Math  Fluency with basic math facts up to 20

Math Workshop 3 rd Grade  Understand place value to round whole numbers  Fluently add and subtract within 1000  Fractions: represent on a number line and equivalent fractions  Graphing: bar, picture, and line plot  Measurement: time to the minute, volume, and mass  Geometry: area & perimeter  Represent and solve problems involving multiplication and division  Fluently multiply and divide within 100  Solve two-step word problems using the 4 operations

Formal Assessments  Reading 3D  DE Testing (Math)  Each assessment is completed three times a year.  3rd Grade EOG Report Card  Similar to last year’s report card.  It is standard based for 2 nd & 3 rd.  Reflects progress toward end of the year standards/expectations.

PBIS  Please be sure to initial agenda nightly  Students earn up to 7 points each day. Students can lose points for not adhering to Bethel Universals  PAWS tickets can be earned by going above and beyond Bethel Universals  Behavior celebrations will occur four times a year based on required points for each quarter
