READING SHORT STORIES: DAY 3 Parallel Plot in Short Stories Thursday, September 24, 2015 Honors MYP

Snippet: Writing Dialogue9/24/15 Write an entertaining conversation between 2 people. Revision 1: Remove repetitive words (i.e. “said”). Revision 2: Edit for punctuation using your punctuation rules.

Notes: Parallel Plot Definition: The writer weaves two or more dramatic plots that are usually linked by a common character and a similar theme. Either 2 characters whose plots demonstrate a similar lesson. Or 1 character with 2 plots that weave together at the end.

Reading “John Graye: Super Soldier” This is a story written by an honors student last year. The parallel plot in this story is very subtle, so keep an eye out as you read.
