5 Notes: Methods of Characterization 4 Methods: Author Narration Character’s Thoughts/Feelings Character’s Words/Actions Other Characters’ Reactions to the Characters In this story, we will not see “author narration” because the story is told from first-person point of view.

6 “American History” Background on JFK Read Story Make a key: Pink = Character’s Thoughts/Feelings Green = Character’s Words/Actions Yellow = Other Characters’ Reactions Highlight for 3 methods of characterization Make a chart in SECTION 2 of your notebook with the 3 methods. For each method, summarize what we learn about Elena based on the information you highlighted.
