INTRODUCTION Stone age pre-historic cultural stage or level of human development.characterized by the creation and use of stone tools

PALEOLITHIC AGE Paleolithic is the longest period of human history Paleolithic humans made tools of stone and hand axes People were pure hunter and gatherers

PALEOLITHIC AGE

Mesolithic period dates from them end of the last ice age. MESOLITHIC AGE 2 Mesolithic period dates from them end of the last ice age. They were used to fine small tools [microlith],bow and arrow. The beginning of fishing[basket,boats] The mesolithic age is the period between paleolithic and neolithic age

MESOLITHIC AGE

NEOLITHIC AGE The beginning of farming. Cattle rearing. Polished stone tools. Manufacture of rough clay pottery. Beginning of social life.

NEOLITHIC AGE

BRONZE AGE[3000 BC] The alloy made by mixing copper with tin is called bronze. The major activities of this period is plough agriculture , hunting ,handicrafts , exchange , long distance trade. The main features of the Bronze Age are; Urbanisation Emergence of the art of writing Invention of counting

BRONZE AGE

IRON AGE[1200-600 BC] Iron is available in nature as ore. Iron ore was first processed in Asia Minor. The invention of the iron revolutionised aggriculture and trade. Iron tools helped to cut down huge trees and break big stones.

CONCLUSION The control that man gained over nature was a very slow process.The change from hunters and gatherers to producers of food and sedentary communities was a major one.
