THIS YEARS SCHEDULE The schedule for our class is broken down into ten units; Unit 1 Creating a Nation 8/8 to 9/3 Chapters 1 and 2 Unit 2 Immigration and Progressives 9/6 to 9/27 Chapters 3 and 5 Unit 3 The US as a World Power 9/29 to 10/23 Chapters 4 and 6 Unit 4 The Roaring 20’s 10/26 to 11/20 Chapters 7-8 Unit 5 The Great Depression and New Deal 11/30 to 12/15 Chapters 9-10 Review for Midterms 12/16 to 12/17 Unit 6 World War II 1/11 to 2/5 Chapters 11 and 12 Unit 7 The Cold War 2/8 to 2/28 Chapters Unit 8 The Great Society and Civil Rights 3/1 to 3/ 22 Chapters Unit 9 The Vietnam Era 3/22 to 4/15 Unit 10 The End of the Cold War 4/18 to 5/20 Review for finals 5/23 to 6/1

GRADING Quizzes once a week Unit Tests once every three to four weeks. Classwork packets due with unit tests. Retake opportunities for unit exams. 80% or better. A third time once per semester. My notes are on school wires Parent connect

APUSH MATERIALS “America’s History” Henretta Textbook : Bring to school Monday through Wednesday. My School Wires page on the school website. New Concept Outline: Google “Apush Concept Outline.” Sources for American History: Primary Sources Strive for a Five Test Prep book.

EXPECTATIONS Students need to keep work together in a binder or folder. I suggest holding on to your work in order to have materials for your semester reviews. Be respectful of other opinions. Make up work in a timely manner. Everyone can learn!!

EXPECTATIONS 35 Minutes of reading a night. Terms and Chapter Critical Thinking Questions are due the day of the reading quiz (usually Fridays). Some weeks are only single chapters. Unit Tests (typically 100 points) will also be given and will vary depending on the length of the unit. Essays (50 points) will be given at least once per Unit.

RECAP Students are graded on Homework, which is worth 30 points for each chapter. Weekly Quizzes. Unit Tests 100 points. ( every three to four weeks) Essays (one every 3 to 4 weeks) I will change your grade next year if you get a four or five on the test! Get them reading every night.
