‘Climbing Higher’ The Welsh Government have given the Welsh Sport Council the task of removing barriers to sporting opportunities. Can you think of any of the groups they targeted?

Gender Ideally everyone who has an interest should be able to participate and compete in their chosen activity. However there are constraints, some clubs may only offer single sex teams due to a lack of facilities or coaches. What do you know about gender and sport?

Gender Nearly all sports are available to both sexes, they tend to compete separately. Can you think of any sports where women and men compete together? Why do men and women compete separately?

Women in Sport Women's opportunities in sport are steadily increasing. More governing bodies are recognising women's place in their sport. The Woman's Sport Foundation (WSF) was founded in They pioneer the female cause and ensure they are thought of as equals.
