2 Information/Discussion Practical Application Links Diagram/Table Activity Revision GCSE Physical Education MAIN MENU SECTION A (& Short Course) Provision Information 1.Government Policies Government have seen the need to promote healthy living and healthy lifestyles Through the funding of the National Lottery the government has given the Sports Councils the responsibility for implementing the policies and directives The Sports councils are responsible for: PE and School Sports projects Increasing in participation levels Developing the elite performer Coach education

Funding Sport is funded from a variety of sources, the largest supporter for Wales being the Sports Council. The Council currently receives around £12m per year from the National Lottery to distribute to sport in Wales. Sport is also funded from: TV rights Governing Bodies Sponsorship Fund raising Donations

Target Groups These groups of people are targeted so that their access to sport and physical activity is improved Age –increase opportunity within schools, coaching, talent identification, opportunities for 60+.
