Why do we have laws? What would our world be like without laws? Explain. Think about it:

Government where one person has total power. All the power belongs to the ruler. No laws exist that limit what the ruler can or can not do. Also known as: Non-democratic countries Unlimited Government

Government where the people have the power. Laws are used to control the power of leaders. Even those who make the laws must obey them. A Constitution places limits on the government’s power. Limited Government
