Leaders are chosen for a certain amount of time
The people hold the ultimate power through voting
Lots of freedom
Decision making can take a long time
Decision may only benefit the majority of population

7. Monarchy – ruled by a king or queen
Leader has long-term investment in well being of country
Power is passed through the family
Ruler may have absolute power
No choice in leader

9. Theocracy – rulers claim to be ruling on behalf of a set of religious ideas
Government based on high moral codes
Leader believes they have divine power to rule their country
No separation of church and state

Can lead to radicalism
