1945 Carlo Ernesto Valente opened a coffee machine workshop in Milan: that was the beginning of FAEMA, standing for "Fabbrica Apparecchiature Elettro Meccaniche e Affini” The E61 marked the beginning of an era: it was the first machine to use a volumetric pump to bring the water pressure up to 9 atmospheres. Furthermore, with the E61 the infusion principle was optimized: the coffee powder began to be moistened a few seconds before starting the extraction, and this ensured the best extraction of aromatic substances. 1960’s – ’70s The company soon assumed a leading role on the Italian and Latin markets in general. Much of this success was a result of the extraordinary commercial skills that led the company to courageous investments, both finance and innovation wise, in its sales organization and advertising approach. Particularly shrewd and far-sighted was the decision to sponsor a cycling team, and from the late 1960s to early 1970s Faema appeared on the shirts of champions like Merckx, Adorni and Van Looy. Water and steam delivery output Hot Water delivery output. In the standard version the machine is equipped with two multidirectional stainless steel steam wands.

Main switch Main switch has two positions. In the position 1 automatic boiler filling. In the position 2 are energized the heating element.

Pressure regulation Easy way to regulate boiler pressure and the relevant coffee temperature, just turn a screw on the pressure switch.

Main Characteristic E61 Red light can be switched on by a push button and it represents a main characteristic of this machine like the old model made in 1961.
