7. - WORKING PRINCIPLE - Heated water circulates throughout the mat, and the mat becomes warm because of the heated water circulation. 1. Hot water circulation: Water circulates through the hose of the mat by expanding pressure of heated water and check valve of water tank. 2. Temperature control: Gas supply is automatically controlled according to water temperature. 3. Gas supply shut off : If the heater is turned over or it is tilted at more than 45 degrees, gas supply is automatically shut off. -7-

Hang the BLACKCAN from the TRIPOD and put the Air mat into the sleeping bag. 4. Open the lid of the reservoir and pour 450cc of water. 5. Turn on the main valve. 6. While James Young, a machine designer and an inventor of BLACKCAN, was climbing the Annapurna in extreme cold, he keenly felt the necessity of outdoor heating system which can make outdoor camping safe and comfortable. Though many items were developed by him through numerous researches and experiments in the laboratory and mountains, they were not satisfactory as personal equipments for climbing the snow mountains due to their large size and heavy weight.
