Special Attention & Noteworthy Cases/Calls Phone/Internet Fraud On 8/4 Vic received a phone call from a Spanish accented male indicating her father was involved in a car accident and that he was being held at gunpoint. Vic hung up and called family members to confirm her father’s safety. SP called from Vic recently discovered a rental home in Quincy, MA for $500 on Craigslist. Upon discussion with the posting party, an agreement was made for Vic to send a money order, which she did. Suspect subsequently requested another $100 in order to send Vic the keys via FedEx. When the package never arrived Vic discovered the posting was a scam. SP provided Vic with a contact number. Sex Crime As a result of an ongoing investigation by the Detective Division using Craigslist, a suspect was arrested for Enticing a Child.
