A Commissioners Perspective on Promoting Recovery Vicky Jones Regional Commissioning and Development Manager North Wales Area Planning Board (NWAPB)

The Geography bit!

NWAPB Joint Vision Working together we will seek to make North Wales a safer & healthier place to live, work and visit by preventing and reducing the impact that substance misuse has in our communities by promoting recovery and providing the best service possible to help those in need.

Notion of Recovery The Journey Through…….

Welsh Policy Drivers NICE Guidance- people in drug treatment should be offered support to access mutual aid Wales Recovery Framework: “APBs need to build links with mutual aid groups ensuring that all individual services have the relevant pathways in place. These resources should be encouraged at all stages of the treatment journey..... Where these resources are not currently available, commissioners and planners should seek to support their growth”

Other Commissioning Drivers Service User Need and Views Evidence base Economics/ Value For Money Sustainability
