Emergency Actions Emergency Actions are composed of two actions. 1) Tornado & Severe Weather 2) Emergency Evacuation

Severe Weather Policy - Tornadoes Associate Procedure Severe weather warnings will be announced over the plant public address system, or by messenger in case of a power outage. Stay calm..Listen for instructions.. Follow your Supervisor’s instructions

Severe Thunderstorm Watch – Severe thunderstorms are possible. Severe Thunderstorm Warning – Severe thunderstorms are occurring. WARNING – Happening Now WATCH - Possible

When a tornado warning is announced, proceed as quickly as possible to your designated safe area. Sit on the floor with your head against your knees and arms folded across your head. If no advanced warning, associates will take immediate shelter under a conveyor line, assembly table or any strong object.

Avoid windows, overhanging air conditioning units, corridors and offices with exterior walls, the main entrance and break rooms/cafeteria with windows.

Designated Safe Areas Plant #1 – Along the wall of the Human Resource and office areas. Plant #2 – Along the wall outside of the offices, First Aid room or restrooms. Plant #3 – Walls along the break room and restrooms.

Designated personnel will perform a visual check of all work areas to ensure that all associates have been properly evacuated.

Associates will not return to their work areas until a complete headcount has been performed, an inspection of the facility structure and an “ALL CLEAR” has been announced by the General Manager, HR Manager or 2 nd Shift Superintendent.

In case of structural damage to the facility, associates will be moved to a safer area within the facility. IF the structural damage is severe, the facility will be evacuated according to established evacuation procedure.

Emergency Evacuation When an evacuation is needed, the fire alarm will sound or an intercom announcement will notify associates to evacuate the facility to their designated emergency assembly areas.

Once an emergency situation has been established, Associates shall move to the nearest exit and muster at their designated evacuation area. The Safety Coordinator, member of management or the switchboard operator will notify the proper authorities (911) of an emergency.

The designated work area “evacuation monitors” will scan their area to insure all personnel have evacuated their area. The area Supervisor will take a tour of their area to insure all personnel have evacuated. Supervisory personnel will take their list of associates along with their up to date daily attendance report to the applicable designated assembly area.

Supervisors will take roll at the designated assembly area. After completing the roll count the supervisor will report any missing associate to the senior staff member (area 1) in charge or emergency services personnel. At no time should any MSE employee re-enter the building searching for a missing person.

The General Manager or senior staff member will notify supervisors to release the associates to return to work. Fire drills shall be conducted twice a year in June and December. Fire alarms will be tested at a minimum on an annual basis.

Assembly Area #1 will be used as the command center for Senior Staff. Area Zero (0) will be used for the first-aid station.

Emergency Evacuation Drill At least twice annually, Management shall conduct an emergency evacuation (fire) drill. The Emergency Center for The area will be notified of the intent to conduct an evacuation drill.

Drill Procedure 1) The drill will start by activating the fire alarm system in the molding department. 2) The molding department Manager/Supervisor will call the switchboard operator and notify the operator of an emergency evacuation. 3) The switchboard operator will call 911 to inform that the drill has started and to simulate making an actual 911 call.

4)The switchboard operator will announce the evacuation over the public address system 5 times. This is an Evacuation Warning. Please evacuate the plant immediately. Proceed to your designated assembly area. 5) All Associates will proceed to their designated evacuation assembly areas. 6) The designated area monitor will shutdown the moving or operating machinery in their area.

7)The designated area evacuation monitor and Supervisor will ensure all associates make it out of the building. 8)For drill purposes, the Molding Department associates will set their machines to the manual mode. In the event of an actual emergency, the machines will be turned off.

9) Forklift operators will park the lifts on the side of the aisle ways and shut off the LPG tank. 10)The area evacuation monitor nearest the restrooms will be responsible to clear the restrooms. 11) Warehouse associates are responsible for stopping inbound traffic.

12) The Systems Administrator will bring the system back-up disk to the designated rally point. 13) Supervisors and Department Managers will take attendance from their attendance list and daily attendance report. If the Department Manager and Supervisor are absent, the area monitor will take over the attendance list responsibilities.

14) Visitors will be escorted to assembly area #1 by their plant contact. 15) After each designated assembly area has taken roll, the Supervisor will take the roll count to assembly area #1 and report to the Senior Management person. 16) Appointed First Aid Responders will retrieve the spare medical kit from the first aid room and report to assembly area 0.

18) The General Manager or designee will declare the plant safe to return to work. 19) The 911 service will be notified that the drill is completed. 20) A follow up meeting (critique) will take place by all Supervisors and senior management.
