Lesson 1 – Workplace Ergonomics Outcome 1.2. Set up and organize workstations safely and efficiently

What factors effect workplace efficiency? –How well rested and relaxed you are –Comfort and setup of office –Diet / eating –Distractions –Posture

Study of how people’s efficiency in their working environment Typical person works between 8-12 hours at a desk per day Injuries and muscle pain can occur

Everyone has their own preferred seating style, but, major back and neck pain often occurs from bad posture

Sit up as straight as possible; hands should be slightly lower than elbows to keep blood flowing to the hands If possible, buy an ergonomic chair with lumbar support! Comfort and good health is important! Take frequent breaks and stretch your arms and legs

1)Complete Ergonomics Questions When finished, show me first before moving on. 2)Create a Workplace Ergonomics Brochure Incorporate as many of the skills and tools in your final product. May use Microsoft Word or Publisher to create
