Status Tasks Responsibility Entry requirements Basic education in RP Recognition Continuous education Structure

RPE

RPE Status -Can be someone from the establishment. For some inst. (ex. NPP) : have to be intern ! -Can be asked for a team of RPE

RPE Tasks - Cf. BSS  Currently (Belgium) = health physicist + Transport ? : to be defined clearly ! + Validation of RPO + Can also achieve RPO’s tasks

RPE Responsibility -Gives advice / assistance to the institution -Responsibility stays by the exploitant

RPE Entry requirements - Master in exact or applied sciences or equivalent diploma (Scientific Council or FANC validation)

RPE Basic education in RP - Theoretic + practical exercises : 12 ECTS + practical experience on the field Cl I (NPP …) : 3 years (6 m RPE tasks), Cl IIA (Cyclotron, …) : 2 years (6 m RPE tasks), Cl II (Univ., Research center, Ind.) : 1 year (3 m RPE tasks), Cl III (Radiology …) : 6 months (3 m RPE tasks), Transport : 1 year (6 m RPE tasks)

RPE Nuclear Safety and Security : -Have to be separated from the RPE tasks via an other recognition ?

RPE Recognition -Title of « Health Physicist - RPE » -Given by FANC (Federal Authority) -For one type of installation (ex. Cl II sealed and non sealed source) and not for one specific site -Validity : 2 years (first recognition) 5 years (following)

RPE Continuous education -Min 200 pts / 5 y (Cl I - IIA) -Min 100 pts / 5 y (Cl II - III)  Cf. table

RPE ActivityRemarque / proofValueRemarque FormationCertificate10 pts / d Minimum 100 pts for cl I and IIA Minimum 75 pts for other classes Formation with examCertificate with test result 15 pts / d Conference ….Certificate of attendance 5 pts / d Oral presentation at a conference … Conference program10 pts- Poster presentation at a conference … Conference program5 pts- Publication in a journal (with jury) Paper10 pts- Publication in a journalPaper5 pts- Teaching task (university, college …) Course program2 pts / hMaximum 20 pts Active member in an (inter)nationale commission List of participants 10 pts / commission -

RPO

RPO Status -Operator nominate one (or more) RPO -RPO work in the establishment  know the installation ! -Knowledge and has the technical competence -Depend on the safety dep. for RPO tasks

RPO Tasks - Cf. BSS -BUT : -(1) give advice : should be limited ! -(2) establish work program = work procedures -(3) teaching of people (not only via RPO).

RPO Responsibility -As all other workers

RPO Entry requirements - Bachelor or equivalent diploma

RPO Basic education in RP - Theoretic and practical exercises : 50 h (Cl I and II), 8 h (Cl III) + practical experience on the field Defined and ‘supervised’ by the RPE 20 h (Cl I and II) 8 h (Cl III).

RPO Recognition -Official designation by the exploitant (contract …) -After advice of RPE -Validity : 5 years

RPO Continuous education -Min 20 h / 5 y Min 1 d of external activities (course, conf. …)

Thank you for attention Thanks to all members of WG !!!
