Theatre Management And now for the event you’ve all been waiting for… BASIC

What is management?  Management: The act or art of conducting or supervising a business

Management Responsibility  Managers are in charge of handling all money matters for the theatre

What types of money matters?  Brainstorm all the financial matters that might happen in a theatre: From where does money come? Where does it go? How?

Who heads the management branch?  Producer: The person who oversees the business details of a theatrical production When it says Patriot Players Present in our programs, this is because we spend the money to PRODUCE the show.

Producer’s financial responsibilities… 1.) Secure rights to present the play 2.) Raise money 3.) Hire directors, designers, actors, staff 4.) Arrange for the rental of the theatre
