Direct & Indirect Object Pronouns

¡Importante! Both direct and indirect object pronouns ALWAYS go before the verb. Ejemplo: Él me miró. (He saw me.) Indirect Object Pronoun verb

Direct Object answers the question “what?” in a sentence. Tells what receives the direct action of the verb

Ejemplos Ejemplo: El compró el boleto. (He bought the ticket.) What did he buy? el boleto (the ticket)

Direct Object Pronoun Pronoun (word that takes the place of a noun) that answers who/what receives the direct action of the verb

Ejemplos Ejemplo: El lo compró. (He bought it.) What did he buy? lo (it- male, singular object)

Direct Object Pronouns Me ( me ) Nos ( us ) Te ( you ) Lo ( male object, him ) Los ( male objects, male them) La ( female object, her ) Las ( female objects, female them)

Indirect Object Pronouns answers the questions “to whom?” tells who is the indirect receiver of the verb’s action

You may have noticed... Me (me), Te (you), and Nos (us) can be both Direct and Indirect Object Pronouns.

That’s because... Sometimes “me”, “you”, and “us” tell who is indirectly receiving the action of the verb, and sometimes they tell what is receiving the direct action of the verb.
