1 Vamos a repasar… ¿Qué es un pronombre? What’s a pronoun?
*A pronoun is a word (usually a little word) which replaces another word to either shorten a sentence or question or to clarify.

2 Direct Object Pronouns
The direct object of a sentence is usually a person or a thing. It receives the action of the verb. It usually answers the questions whom? or what? in relation to the subject and verb. Sofia compró un boleto. subject verb object

3 Direct Object Pronouns
You can simplify your statement in Spanish just like we do in English by substituting in a direct object pronoun for the object of the sentence which is receiving the ACTION of the verb. Sofia compró un boleto. subject verb object WHAT DID SOFIA BUY? Sofia lo compró. Sofia bought it. (referring to a ticket)

WHAT? WHOM? singular plural me me nos us te you (informal) os you all (informal) lo you (formal) / him / it (masculine) los you all (formal) / them (masculine) la you (formal) / her / it (feminine) las you all (formal) / them (feminine)

6 Indirect Object Pronouns
The indirect object of a sentence is usually a person or a thing. It usually refers to whom or for whom the action of the verb in performed. Sofia compró un boleto a su esposo. subject verb direct object indirect object

7 Indirect Object Pronouns
Indirect objects (& their respective pronouns) refer to people already mentioned as indirect objects; that is, the pronoun tells to whom or for whom the action of the verb is performed.
