What is the best strength training drill for a basketball player to do? Hip stretchers - squats, cleans, snatches ("Top 3 Hip”). All three exercises do a fantastic job on isolating hips. Squats, cleans, and snatches can trigger low back and sciatic issues.

What are the benefits of strength training for basketball? Lower high blood pressure. Reduces the risk of diabetes and insulin needs. Reduces symptoms of PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome) ( Walker ).

How can strength training improve a basketball players performance? Using muscles to work against extra pounds can strengthen and increase the amount of body mass. Regular exercises such as running, or using a stationary bike can strengthen your heart and lungs. (The Pumping Station)
