Your heart sends oxygen to body cells. 4. The more blood it pumps per beat, your heart does not have to beat as often to send the same amount of oxygen. 5. The stronger your heart is, your resting heart rate is lower which allows your heart to rest between beats. 6. Exercise also lowers your blood pressure.
