Presentation transcript:

Morning Arrival Students are to be dropped off at the covered drop off behind the gym. Doors open at 7:10. Students are tardy by 7:50 a.m. Arrive on Time Tardies will be marked if your child is not in class by 7:50a.m. Even if your child is in the cafeteria eating breakfast, if they’re not in my room by 7:50, he/she will be marked tardy and will have to go to the main office for a tardy slip.

Breakfast Please have your child on time to eat breakfast. They must eat breakfast before coming to their classroom. I suggest having them enter the school building by 7:20 if they plan to eat breakfast.

Snack If your child is tardy, he/she must purchase it from the main office before coming to the classroom. Snack is taken up was the roll is taken. I am not able to give change because I do not always have change. I can, however, keep up with the balance your child has and apply all monies toward the next snack item he/she purchases. Snack is ONLY taken up and purchased in the morning. Place snack money in envelope/ Ziploc bag labeled with how much and your child’s name on it. Feel free to send your child his/her own snack.

Lunch Lunch money is also taken up in the morning. Please send separately from snack as they go to two different locations. Place all money in envelope/ Ziploc bag labeled with how much and your child’s name on it. Feel free to send your child his/her own lunch. If your child is tardy, he/she may still bring me his/her lunch money in the morning. I will then send him/her down to Mrs. Pinchon in the cafeteria. I do this, so I can say I saw him/her bring the money.

Absentees Any student absent should bring an excuse the first day back at school. Any student failing to do so will be marked unexcused by the office. These should be turned in to me during the time I call for money and notes after taking roll. All tests missed are to be made up upon returning. If you know ahead of time your child will be out, I can go ahead and test him/her. Seven unexcused absences within a school year constitute a student being truant for the purpose of filing a petition to court.

Medicine If your child needs to take medicine in school, you MUST follow the procedures in the Handbook. You must check it in with the school nurse yourself and fill our appropriate paperwork. All medicine must be in the original container. If you have any questions regarding this, please call the school nurses at (334)

Everyday Needs Your child needs pencils, crayons, scissors and their homework folders every day. They will also need to bring their library books to school every day once we start signing them out of the library. Please make sure your child’s name is on all school supplies, backpacks and any coats or jackets that come to school.

Sign and Return Please sign and return all forms IMMEDIATELY! Please be sure to keep the school and me updated on any changes that are made, especially phone numbers. This way, we will be able to reach you if your child is sick or hurt. Also, things will be sent home to be signed and returned. Please be sure to check your child’s folder every night. Graded papers go home every Tuesday after testing has been completed for the previous week. There will be a slip you are to sign and return to show me you saw your child’s tests.
