* Take breaks about every 45 minutes * Highlight key works and sentences * Take notes to ask questions of teachers on material you do not understand * Compare notes to study guides and ask “Will this be a test question?” * Use fold over technique to quiz yourself or have someone quiz you during 2 nd week studying * Do not expect to remember everything after the first, second, third, or fourth time reviewing – the more repetition the better

* -Read all of the questions and answers * -Focus on studying when you are studying * -Get enough sleep * -Know how you study (do you need quiet? noises?) * -Have pencils ready (and sharpened!) * -Use flashcards * -Read the info that is on the exam * -Put your phones away * -Take plenty of study breaks * -Use pneumonic devices * -Use online resources * -Do math problems in order to practice, don't stare at examples of math problems * -Participate in a study group * -Library hours/online resources through the library * -Get organized (notes, old quizzes) * -Start early * -Eat well, have snacks * -Review your Cornell notes and start early * -Get organized and have a good breakfast

* Get a good night’s sleep before each exam * Eat a good nutritious meal for dinner and breakfast * Read each question fully and mark best answer * If you don’t know it – skip it, then come back later in test. * Show work or tell what you do know * Never leave a question unanswered

* A plan for post-secondary and career * At least a 21 composite on the ACT * A work based experience, service learning or capstone research project * At least one course completed online for high school or college credit * Earned college credit and/or nationally recognized professional certification
