16 What Will Help Me Be Successful?
These are strategies that you may find useful during your test: Take 2-3 deep breaths to help relax Read the directions carefully & underline, circle, or highlight KEY words Survey the entire test to get a flavour of what you will need to do Budget your time

17 What Will Help Me Be Successful?
Start with an easy question, or a question you know you can answer, rather than following the test in order If you “draw a blank”, repeat the breathing exercise, then move to visualization and positive self talk. Write down anything you remember about the subject on the backside of your test. This can help remind you that you do know something and you are capable of completing the test. Look over the test when you have finished & double- check your answers to be sure you did not forget anything.

18 Additional Tips Answer all of the questions on the test
Budget your time Use all the space provided – feel free to make up (realistic) details to enhance your writing If you are unsure about a question, reread it slowly and try again

19 Don’t Forget! 1. Check for your assigned classroom tomorrow in the Commons area. 2. On Monday night, pack your: Pencils Eraser Blue/Black pens Bottled water (label removed) Highlighter (optional) 3. Be at school by 8:15 am on Thursday morning!
