THE FUTURE USING THE RIGHT TENSE

WILL  I left the door open. I will close it right now. (In the restaurant) W :What would you like to drink?  I will have a cup of coffee, please. Did you call Sue? No, I forgot it. I will call her tonight Decisions at the time of speaking

I AM GOING TO : I HAVE DECIDED TO DO STH. Today, I am going to drive my new motorcycle, then I am going to phone my best friend and finally I am going to read my favourite novel.

PRESENT CONTINUOUS The present continuous is used to describe plans and arrangements which are definite. Such arrangements may be written in a diary.  I’m flying to London tomorrow morning. The present continuous is used to describe fixed arrangements, and to ask about social arrangements.  Are you doing anything this evening?

How does it work?  It all depends on the level of certainty. 1. Sudden decision: We’ll go to the Canary Islands! 2. Plan or intention: I’m going to (go to ) the US next summer. 3. Fixed arrangement: I´m leaving tomorrow.

IS GOING TO HAPPEN: The situation now makes us believe that. Look at those black clouds! It’s going to rain. She is pregnant. She is going to have a baby. PREDICTIONS WITH PRESENT EVIDENCE BUT YOU SHOULD ALSO REMEMBER !

I am little hungry. I think I will have a sandwich. I don’t think I will go out tonight. I am too tired. Personal opinion

WILL: future facts, predictions and offers  I’ll be 40 next week  You’ll find your charming prince.  I’ll help you…
