3. How to use your funds:  000006Professional Development  These funds are used for teacher training only and can be used to pay for substitutes, registrations, travel, or supplies. Function is always 6400. School is responsible for labor and non-labor. Over expenditure of funds is the responsibility of the school.

4.  011042 Substitute Incentive Planning  These funds are used for team teaching planning opportunities. Function is always 6300. Funds carry forward so you may schedule planning opportunities accordingly. Keep in mind that these expenditures will be monitored by your Area Coordinator and that documentation may be required. Any incorrect use or over expenditure of funds is the responsibility of the school.

5. Payroll Entry  Payroll entry for substitutes from these projects should be entered on the H606 screen using the appropriate accounting string.  Do not fill in the “Replaced: Employee” field.  Work with your bookkeeper to verify the available balance in each of these projects. Entering these substitutes in the payroll system accurately saves both you and the bookkeeper added steps at the end of the year.
