The language of communication with Dormitory Managers is Czech. To have interpretation into English and vice versa, request assistance from your Buddy OR from Housing Coordinators – more information on the next slide.

Housing Coordinators are VŠE students living in your dormitory. They receive a stipend as a compensation for their assistance with interpreting from English into Czech and vice versa. Their role is to assist you with communication with Dormitory Managers who communicate in Czech, oficial language. Feel free to contact them throughout the semester via or in person.

8. Student Duties (1)
When entering the dormitory, use your student ID to open the door
Respect “quiet hours”: 22:00 – 6:00
Keep your unit’s door closed
No parties
When someone comes to you and complains about noise you are making, please keep it down
If you fail to keep it down, reception can call security or police
random security checks every night

Do not throw anything out of the window

11. Student Duties (3) Smoking is prohibited (including balcony!)
Do not to smoke in the halls of residence, except areas approved by the Manager of the Hall of residence and DAF director
No parties at dorms
The dormitory´s residents must refrain from making noise during night hours, i.e. between 22:00 and 6:00.In particular during that time no musical instrument may be played, no loud entertainment and in fact no loud activity can be made.

15. Wi-fi connection
Got an from the IT Department to your UNIVERSITY - please, check the university account regularly
eduroam wireless network is available
The wireless connection is meant to be supplementary and it does not provide all the options (e.g. IPTV does not work). Some devices (especially smartphones and tablets) have small antenna and therefore can be a problem get connected to the Wi-Fi eduroam.
In all rooms, a data socket is provided; for each resident is one socket

17. Exchange of bedding Go to the storage room
Show the accomodation card (ISIC card) to the storage keeper
Hand over used one → then you will receive a clean one

18. Steps on How to Do Laundry
1. Make a reservation at the reception
possible to use washing machine from 8:00 a.m.till 11:00 p.m.
2. Before laundering
pick up the key from the laundry room
at the reception pay the 30 CZK fee for 3 hours
leave your dormitory card at the reception until you finish your laundry
3. Do your laundry
Washing machines are labeled with a number; you are only allowed to use the one you paid for
4. After laundering
return the key at the reception

20. Payment
Pay the whole amount (according to your Accommodation Agreement (AA)

Branch of Česká spořitelna (bank) at VŠE - no additional fees!
At dormitory receptions – fee of 100 CZK
Do not forget to bring your AA with you
Bank transfer from a foreign account
Problems with exchange rate + credited late, fee of 500 CZK

21. Moving within/out of the dormitory
Termination of your AA – stated in Article 8 b) of your AA: a notice must be sent from your VŠE account to your Dormitory Manager´s account
Moving within your current dormitory → visit your Dormitory Manager´s office
Moving outside your current dormitory – follow instructions in your AA, Article 8
