4 Introduction Thank you for coming to our class today! You will be working with Darlene, Nancy, and Lenaee today. They should able to answer any of your questions. However, if you have further questions, feel free to call Lizette in the office by dialing “0” on the phone. Also include any information for how the substitute should complete attendance or lunch reports.

5 Class Routines Morning Routine: The para’s will meet in the classroom in the morning. You all will go together to get the students off of the bus at 00:00. Staff will take students to breakfast and eat in the cafeteria. After the cafeteria, students will unpack their backpacks, use the restroom, and enter the classroom. Lunch/ Breakfast routine: Teacher and TAs will assist students in the cafeteria as needed. Bathroom routine: Students have times to go to the bathroom set into the schedule, however if they request to go to the bathroom, they are welcome to. Dismissal routine: Staff will escort students to buses and parents for pick-up. See next page for specifics and bus numbers. Also include any information for transitions, specials, etc.

15 Emergency Procedures Evacuation procedures: Head students to back parking lot, move quickly and quietly; Follow evacuation exit routs diagram. Make sure students are 400 feet from nearest building. Keep students grouped. Report missing students to CRT member. Remain outside with students until notified otherwise by Administration. Fire: Evacuate students to designated spaces outside. Take head count and roll. Report missing students to appropriate CRT member. Medical Emergency: Notify the office immediately to the Principal. Notify 911 if directed to do so by Principal. Monitor the subject while help is arriving. Keep crowd away from subject. Tornado: Move students to pre-determined areas in accordance with tornado drill plan (therapy office). Monitor students to guarantee that all are in safety position with tornado strikes. Get students quiet so they can hear the Hall Monitor’s commands. **Your emergency procedures are likely to be different, just insert them on these pages.** Also include bomb threat, explosion/ earthquake and intruder procedures.
