1 Mrs. Brooks’ Mon-Stars

2 Students will use a combined reading and grammar journal. Handouts and information will be stored in this journal. It can be taken home to study for assessments or to complete work. Students are asked to read 20 minutes each night and to work on Eagle Eye reports as they are reading.

3 Social Studies Journal Students will work on a Social Studies Interactive journal in class. The journal may be taken home each night to study or use for completing homework. Handouts will be glued into the journal so that all information is kept in the same place.

6 Gold and Blue Eagles Earn points Gold Eagle for no marks on behavior sheet Blue Eagle award for one to three marks on behavior sheet. Most Improved recognized each 9 weeks. Nightly behavior sheet

8 Written in agenda DAILY Monday – Thursdays ….Math and Reading Every Night Reading at home for 20 minutes each night and working on Eagle Eye reports. One Eagle Eye is due every Monday. No homework will result in a mark on the behavior log, repeated offenses may result in loss of classroom privileges

9 Students who arrive before 7:30 am will have sustained reading in the classroom until 8:00. Students will be reading books within their Lexile range and working on Eagle Eye reports. Students may bring books from home, use books from the classroom library or books from the Learning Commons. Students who arrive after 7:30 am will have sustained reading in the café. Students may bring books from home, or use their books from the Learning Commons. Morning Eagle Time

12 Make-up work will be sent when student returns Not all work can be made up, we do activities in class as groups Send in an excuse letter as soon as possible After multiple absences a letter is sent home from the school/county. Remember, excessive tardiness or absences have a negative impact on student achievement
