2 We form the Past Simple … By adding –ed to a regular verb. (DANCED) By choosing the 2nd column of an irregular verb. (BEGIN – BEGAN – BEGUN) NEGATIVE: DIDN’T + INFINITIVE (We didn’t go) QUESTION: DID + subject + INFINITIVE? (Did you see …?)

3 Time references:  yesterday  last  in 2001  ago When you indicate that an action is finished.

4 We form the Present Perfect … with HAVE / HAS and –ed or 3rd column. (We have loved) (past participle) NEGATIVE: HAVEN’T / HASN’T+ past participle (She hasn’t gone) QUESTION: HAVE / HAS + subject + past participle? (Have you finished …?)

5 Time references:  for  since  yet  already When you indicate that an action started in the past and has some effect in the present..  just  recently  lately  so far
