9 Summary of UK pilot Piloted as part of a staff development day Two pilot sessions with year 1 of initial teacher training Two pilot sessions with year 2 of initial teacher training One activity piloted at regional ITT course managers meeting by social partner Two members of staff piloted an activity with their learners EfVET conference – tested activity

10 Summary of UK pilot 2 Each pilot included a mix of tasks and activities chosen to meet the needs of the target group Evaluation forms were completed by all participants

11 UK Feedback on tasks A lot of interest in the pack Doing the tasks helps build confidence in embedding life skills Useful to have materials on CD There have been a lot of life skills initiatives in UK, so many were familiar with the concept prior to the pilot

12 UK Positive feedback on activities Activities were fun Teachers could see how they could be used with their learners Felt they would be effective in developing life skills Enjoyed the active participation Helped them to talk about and understand embedding life skills

13 UK Areas for development - activities Body language – more information and background needs to be given prior to activity Jigsaw sentences need to be relevant and meaningful Mobile phone activity – concerns about security in UK
