7 Joondalup Centre – Competition (internal) Season starts on the 10 th of October (last Saturday of school holidays) Pre-Christmas competitions finishes 19 December Multi event for up to U11, Joondalup Gift for U10 and older, followed by Christmas Party Post-Christmas to start 9 January Twilight Meets (Saturday from ~5pm – 3 week program – Friday 22 Jan) Championship Day 1 – 13 Feb 2016 Championship Day 2 – 20 Feb 2016 AGM – 12 Mar 2016 Special events Relay Trials – 18 October (morning) Every athlete will run relevant track events twice No competition points earned

8 Joondalup Centre – Competition (internal) Competition Day Set up commences at 6.00am Set up / pack away and BBQ by age groups First event marshalling at 7.30am Day usually completes by midday for the older age groups, earlier for the younger age groups We operate on a coordinator/parent helper system You follow your children rather than being stuck on a long jump pit with a rake all day Coordinators have knowledge of events/rules Coordinator workshop organised, date TBA

12 110 roster needed per week Mandatory to do 6 roster of which 2 are set up / pack away / BBQ Failure to complete the required rosters will have the following consequences Your child will not be eligible to represent the Centre at relays Your child will not be eligible to win medals at the Centre Championship competition Online roster software (next page) Sign in on competition day is in the Clubrooms, it is the parents responsibility that the roster sheet is signed

15 Joondalup Centre – Competition (external) 15 Nov 2015 – Braveheart Challenge (Athletics Stadium WA) U6 – U10 28 Nov 2015 – JLAC vs Ridgewood Challenge (Athletics Stadium WA) – All Centre 13 Dec 2015 – State Relay championships (Athletics Stadium WA) U8 and older (by selection only) Dec 2015 – North v South Challenge Final (Athletics Stadium WA) U12 and older 7 Feb 2016 – State Multi Event Championships (Athletics Stadium WA) - U11 and older 7/8 Mar 2015 – Little Athletics Zones Championships (McGillivray Oval) 21/22 Mar 2015 – Little Athletics State Championships (Athletics Stadium WA)

Teams Challenge – anyone can compete Relay – refer to website for selection criteria Team selection by special events committee Track Relay (100m & 200m/400m) Field Relay (2 throws / 2 jumps) State Multi Events – Anyone in U11 and older age group can compete, Athletes do 5 events, 100m, Hurdles, Jump, Throw, 800m Zones Championships – Ridgewood, Hamersley, UWA and Joondalup Athletes U7 – U9…….4 events at their choosing - gold/silver/bronze awarded U10 – U12…. 5 events at their choosing > U12……… 6 events at their choosing State Championships – Qualify from Zones Championships (U10 and older)

17 Joondalup Centre – Competition (external) cont. Relay – refer to website for selection criteria If you nominate your child for any of the State events, it is mandatory to complete a roster Depending on numbers, this could be a half day roster

18 Joondalup Centre – Venue HBF Arena is owned and administrated by Venues West, a State Government controlled entity The Clubrooms are run by ACSRA with representatives from Joondalup Brothers (Rugby Union), Joondalup Netball Association and Joondalup Little Athletics We lease the oval from Venues West – annual cost $15,000 – we receive 50% refund form CoJ Previously - permanent booking for oval in early March (Future Music Festival) – not this season Potential for 3 other bookings (concerts)

19 Joondalup Centre – Venue cont. Season before last - we had to leave the oval on 1 week notice Severe disruption to our season as we had to organise new oval, moving of equipment and equip oval to competition standard This season no concerts are planned Be prepared that a change of venue could occur on short notice

21 Parent’s Responsibility Make sure your child attends training and be present (athletes not to be dropped-off) Make sure your child is wearing correct uniform at competition Adhere to the Joondalup Little Athletics Code of Conduct Encourage your children to give their best Roster to be completed as required Rosters at State Events
