3  1. The 13 colonies began to develop their own ideas and ways of thinking separate from Great Britain.

4  #1.The French tried to take over the Native American land.#2 Britain declared war on France in 1756 in the Ohio River Valley.#3 Britain won the war and the Treaty of Paris saved the land.

5  The Stamp Act is an act that required colonists to pay British stamp for the printed paper they used. The colonists became rebellious. The colonists protested the Stamp Act.

6  Many colonists became enraged by the engraving by Paul Revere. People dressed as Native Americans for the Boston tea party. Congress declared the colonists to be in a state of mutiny.

7  Genral Thomas heard of the colonists weapons stored in concord. Samuel Perscott warned the militia.The British retreated and the revolution started.

9  May 10,1775 the seconed continetil congres met at the Independense hall in Philadelpha.

10  The green mountain boys helped conquer fort Ticonderoga that happened on May 10, 1775. That gave the Patriots a morale boost.

11  After the battle of Lexington in which the ‘shot heard round the world’ started the first battle of the American Revolution. The British soilders led by Major Jhon Pitcair fought the Patriots.

12 Patriot Thomas Paine wrote a pamphlet common sense. The pamphlet swayed many loyalists to the patriots side. On July 4, 1776 the second Cotinetal Congress approved the Declaration of Independence.

13  The British captured Savanah Georgia in December 1778. the Patriots won a battle at kings moutain. The patriots surrounded the British fought and won.

14 George Washington.:Commander of the Continenteal Army; later became the country’s first president.

16 In 1777 deliegtes appointed by each state to the second continetel congress agreed to send the new plane for government to the states for reviw.

17 It took almost five years for all thirteen states to come to an agreement and approve the Articles of Confederation. In 1781 the major fighting of the Revolutionry War ended. Represenetives from the U.S. and Great Britain discussed peace terms in Paris, France from the middle of 1782 until the Treaty of Paris was singed.

18  Once the Revolutionary war was over and the Treaty of Paris was signed there were terrible money troubles for the United States. Soldiers went home poor and tired. The government had no money and no power to tax so many of the soldiers were not paid.

19  To solve the many problems of the United States, fifty-five men arrived in Pensilvaineya,for a metting at Independence.

20 Some areas were claimed by several states at a time. The sections were to be sold to settlers. Certain sections were saved for the goverment and public schools.

21 France’s emporer tried to buy New Orleans. The United States bought the Louisiana Terrotory. The purchase added 800,000 square miles.

22  It seemed that the united states had a firm hold on its land in North America. President Jefforson planned to keep the united states out of war. James madison planned to do the same.
