Number Resource Optimization Working Group Report to NANC October 17-18, 2000 Brian Baldwin, SBC Beth ODonnell, Cox Communications Eleanor Willis-Camara, Winstar Communications Co-Chairs

October, NANP Exhaust Projections Pursuant to recent instructions from NANC, the NRO-WG reviewed and discussed existing assumptions with NANPA. No new assumptions were drafted, but will be continually revisited as new data is gathered. Discussed sensitivity analysis of impact of wireless inclusion in pooling.

October, Pooling California and Illinois matrices will be updated in January. Additional information will be reported as it becomes available.

October, ITN Report Reviewed and affirmed October 1998 report. Prepared new report and recommendation based on review of earlier report and new information. It is too soon to implement ITN. RECOMMENDATION: Implementation of ITN should be delayed until results of thousands block pooling are more clear and other less disruptive number optimization methods are investigated. Forwarded recommendation to NANC Chair..

October, COCUS (NRUF) Requirements Document Status of Document: NRO-WG will present final Requirements document to NANC at the November meeting. COCUS report goes to NANPA and PA in areas where SPs are participating in pooling. NRO-WG assumed that numbering resources will be withheld from SPs that have not submitted COCUS report to NANPA and PA. NRO-WG assumed that PA will perform reasonableness tests for pooled NPAs as described in the COCUS Requirements Document. NRO-WG forwards to NOWG the obligation to draft performance survey on COCUS.
