AP Published: January 21, 1989 The State Supreme Court refused today to postpone the execution of the killer of a 12- year-old girl, rejecting defense lawyers' plea to let lower courts decide whether he was sane when he was tried. The case for the defendant, Ted Bundy, was argued by the lawyer James Coleman, who later told reporters: ''He wasn't able to assist his lawyers. In fact, he sabotaged a lot of what they were trying to do.'' Mr. Coleman was expected to appeal to the Federal courts. Mr. Bundy is scheduled to be executed at 7 A.M. Tuesday for kidnapping and killing the girl, Kimberly Diane Leach. News Article
